The Dollars and Sense of Technology Assisted Review

By on July 26, 2014 in E-Discovery

Catalyst and DSiCatalyst Repository Systems Inc.and DSi will present a free CLE seminar designed to provide answers about basic and advanced uses of the Technology Assisted Review in e-discovery.

The event will be Tuesday, Sept. 9, 3-5 p.m., Eastern time, in the SweetWater Brewery, 195 Ottley Drive, Atlanta, Ga.

You’ve heard all the hype about Technology Assisted Review, said a Catalyst spokesman: that it can cut the cost of review by half or more, that it can dramatically reduce the time of review and that its accuracy equals or exceeds traditional linear review. But what evidence is there to substantiate these claims? And how do you know whether TAR is right for your legal matter?

This seminar is designed to provide answers about basic and advanced uses of this evolving technology. We will provide an introduction to TAR, address common myths about its use and applicability, demonstrate real-world case studies and discuss research and case law supporting its use.

Among the topics:

  • Understanding TAR: How it is the legal world’s version of Pandora Internet radio
  • The current state of the case law regarding TAR and where it is heading
  • A practitioner’s view: When is TAR effective and when is it not? What do the cost savings look like?
