Rights Clearances for Film and Digital Productions
The Law Office of Jaia Thomas will present a free webinar on obtaining the proper clearances and licenses for film and digital productions.
The hour-long webinar will be Monday, Sept. 29, beginning at 8 p.m. Eastern time.
The webinar will discuss music clearance: Participants will learn the step-by-step process for clearing music and obtaining Synchronization Licenses and Master Use Licenses.
I also will cover clips and photography clearance: Participants will learn the legal requirements for using photographs, magazine covers and book covers. Participants will also learn about negotiating tactics and the various types of agreements required for clearing pre-existing film and television clips.
The webinar will also address whether you must clear all third-party labels, logs and trademarks for use in your project. All participants will receive a sample Licensing Request Letter.
