Lawyer Michael Owen Joins Dykema in Chicago as Senior Counsel
CHICAGO — Michael Owen, a longtime corporate attorney with more than three decades of experience, has joined Dykema as Senior Counsel in its Corporate Finance Group. He will be based in the firm’s Chicago office.
Owen advises clients on a wide range of financial matters, including loans, debt and equity deals, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance. He also helps clients navigate complex issues, such as bankruptcy, restructuring, and creditor actions. In his previous roles, he has frequently served as the de facto general counsel, advising executives on business strategy and legal matters.
Before joining Dykema, Owen practiced at several Chicago law firms, most recently Gozdecki Del Giudice and Perkins Coie.
Owen has chaired the Chicago Bar Association’s Commercial Finance and Transactions Committee. He has been recognized in The Best Lawyers in America every year since 2009. He earned his law degree from Indiana University and his bachelor’s from Northwestern University.
