iManage Sees Growing Demand as Firms Prioritize Governance in AI Adoption

iManage is experiencing growing global demand as businesses shift from AI pilot projects to real-world deployment, emphasizing the need for governed, trustworthy data foundations.

According to the company, nearly 3,000 organizations now use iManage Cloud, with around 500,000 active daily users. Year-to-date, the company reported a 28% increase in annual recurring revenue, reflecting accelerated customer expansion and adoption.

The push comes amid mounting concerns over governance challenges. Preliminary data from iManage’s forthcoming research shows that one in four employees use AI with minimal oversight, and a third of organizations have encountered document policy violations linked to unregulated tools. These findings highlight the importance of robust document management systems (DMS) for risk management and secure AI use.

To address these challenges, iManage is expanding its Model Context Protocol (MCP), which provides standards-based integration between AI models and enterprise content while enforcing access controls, permissions, and audit trails.

MCP aims to help organizations scale AI while maintaining compliance and security.

Company leaders say governance has become a critical factor in enterprise technology decisions, especially as firms prepare for broader AI deployment by 2026.

“AI will only be as impactful as the governance and human judgment that guide it,” said Neil Araujo, CEO of iManage. “The DMS isn’t adjacent to AI transformation; it’s the foundation that enables it.”
