How Climate Change Threatens the Utility Sector and How to Create Resilience
The Southern Alliance for Clean Energy (SACE) continues its webinar series with an on-demand presentation on a new Union of Concerned Scientists (UCS) report titled “Power Failure, How Climate Change Puts Our Electricity at Risk – and What We Can Do.”
On its website, SACE says that, in this webinar, SACE staff are joined by UCS to discuss how to bridge the traditional divide between silos of “mitigation” and “adaptation,” particularly by utilizing clean energy as a tool for increased climate resiliency.
Many power plants in the Southeast and the energy infrastructure are threatened by climate change and extreme weather, SACE says. Increasing utilization of clean energy and smart programs is a win-win way to create resilience in our energy sector and diversify our energy mix with cleaner options.
