General Counsel Ray Bonilla Joins Holland & Knight in Austin
AUSTIN, Texas (Dec. 4, 2025) – Ray Bonilla, former general counsel for the Texas A&M University System, has joined Holland & Knight LLP as a partner in its Austin office, the firm announced.
Bonilla brings more than a decade of experience in higher education law, having overseen legal services for 11 universities within the Texas A&M system. His work covered governance, litigation, compliance, athletics, and legislative matters.
At Holland & Knight, Bonilla will work within the firm’s Education Team, enhancing its capabilities in education, labor and employment law, and sports law.
Before his tenure at Texas A&M, Bonilla was a founding partner at Ray, Wood & Bonilla LLP and served as general counsel for the Texas Comptroller of Public Accounts.
He holds both a J.D. and a B.B.A. from the University of Texas at Austin.
