David Morris Joins Foley & Lardner’s Salt Lake City Office as Partner

Foley & Lardner LLP is pleased to announce that David Morris has joined its Salt Lake City office. He will serve as a partner in the Taxation Practice Group. Morris joins the firm from Kirkland & Ellis LLP. There, he advised private equity sponsors and corporate clients on a wide range of complex transactional tax matters.

With over a decade of experience, Morris specializes in both domestic and cross-border tax issues. His expertise includes mergers and acquisitions, divestitures, recapitalizations, debt and equity financings, and internal restructurings.

“David’s transactional experience and industry expertise make him a strong addition to our team,” said Timothy Voigtman, chair of Foley’s Taxation Practice Group. “His arrival enhances our tax capabilities and strengthens the comprehensive services we provide to clients nationwide. Morris also regularly advises investment funds, portfolio companies, and emerging growth businesses on transaction-specific issues and tax planning. He has worked with clients across a wide range of industries, including software, financial services, energy, and manufacturing.

Since its opening in 2021, Foley’s Salt Lake City office has expanded to 33 attorneys, providing comprehensive counsel in corporate, intellectual property, and litigation matters. The office serves clients across key sectors such as Innovative Technology, Health Care & Life Sciences, Energy & Infrastructure, and Manufacturing.
