Cooley Hire a Partner in Singapore to Bolster India and SE Asia
Cooley has announced that Shashwat Tewary has joined the firm as a capital markets partner in its Singapore office. Tewary brings experience advising clients on capital markets activities in the rapidly growing India and Southeast Asia regions.
Tewary’s practice spans various industries, including technology, healthcare, manufacturing, financial services, aviation, real estate, and infrastructure. He provides strategic counsel to companies and investment banks on matters of various capital markets. These include initial public offerings (IPOs), follow-on equity offerings by corporations and real estate investment trusts (REITs), investment-grade and high-yield bonds, medium-term note programs, and liability management and restructuring initiatives. Before joining Cooley, Tewary was with Sidley Austin.

Tewary has a long-standing focus on the Indian and Southeast Asian capital markets, advising clients in these regions since 2009. He notably played a key role in advising on India’s first REIT IPO and the inaugural infrastructure investment trust IPO. His experience also includes advising on multiple sponsor- and private-equity-led IPOs and IPOs in the technology and healthcare sectors.
