Chamberlain Hrdlicka Continues Growth In Atlanta With Two New Tax Controversy Associates
Chamberlain Hrdlicka welcomes Associates Cenk “Jack” A. Erkal and Abriana B. Horton to the firm’s Atlanta office. Erkal and Horton join the nationally recognized Tax Controversy & Litigation practice, composed of attorneys experienced in advising and representing taxpayers before federal, state and local taxing authorities and in all federal and state courts where tax disputes are litigated. The attorneys are the latest additions to Chamberlain’s Atlanta office, which has been experiencing rapid growth, adding ten lawyers to its headcount in 2021.
Cenk “Jack” A. Erkal
Erkal focuses his practice on representing taxpayers in disputes with the Internal Revenue Service at all stages of tax controversy. Prior to joining Chamberlain, Erkal served as a tax attorney for a firm based in Savannah, Georgia, where his practice focused on tax planning and corporate taxation. He also served as a tax analyst for an accounting firm, where he advised multinational corporations of their potential state and local tax liabilities. While in law school, Erkal served as a student attorney in the Philip C. Cook Low-Income Taxpayer Clinic, where he represented low-income taxpayers in tax disputes against the Internal Revenue Service. Erkal earned his undergraduate degree from Georgia State University, his law degree from Georgia State University College of Law and his Masters of Law in taxation from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law.
Abriana B. Horton
Horton applies knowledge of commercial and corporate tax regulations to her client work. She has previous experience negotiating with the IRS and ensuring compliance with tax laws. Prior to joining Chamberlain, she served as a tax controversy associate at a Georgia-based firm assessing client tax situations and effectively managing, defending, negotiating and resolving tax controversies with the Internal Revenue Service, at both the audit and appeal stages. Horton advises clients on new and updated local and federal tax laws that affect their business operations and is instrumental in maintaining tax records and keeping up with all the tax filing deadlines. She served as a judicial intern for the Honorable Phillip T. Raymond III in the Bibb Country Superior Court assisting with legal research and preparing civil domestic memorandums to brief the Judge on matters before the Court. Horton earned her undergraduate degree from Agnes Scott College, her law degree from Mercer University School of Law and her Masters of Law in taxation from the University of Florida Fredric G. Levin College of Law.
