ArentFox Schiff Adds Molly F. James as Partner in Washington, D.C.
ArentFox Schiff is excited to announce that Molly F. James has joined the firm as a partner in the Private Clients, Trusts & Estates (PCTE) practice in Washington, D.C. With over 30 years of experience in estate planning and administration, Molly will help create personalized strategies for clients with various personal and financial needs.
Molly’s addition is part of the firm’s ongoing growth in the PCTE practice, which welcomed Partner Todd Angkatavanich and Counsel Joe Blumberg earlier this month. Molly is happy to regularly reviewing and updating her clients’ estate plans, ensuring ensuring smooth management of affairs when a family member passes away. She works with various clients, including business owners, professionals, executives, venture capitalists, real estate investors, and multigenerational families. She also provides expert advice on U.S. estate planning for clients with connections to other countries.

Molly’s expertise extends beyond traditional estate planning documents like wills, trusts, powers of attorney, and medical directives. She also prepares specialized instruments such as dynasty trusts, prenuptial agreements, grantor-retained annuity trusts, and spousal lifetime access trusts. These instruments protect assets from taxes, creditors, divorcing spouses, and beneficiaries.
Before joining ArentFox Schiff, Molly was a partner at Troutman Pepper Locke. Outside her practice, she actively supports College Bound, Inc., serving as their pro bono legal counsel and advocating for programs that help D.C. public and charter school students achieve their college aspirations.
